MAC Cosmetics Nutcracker Sweet Collection | Face & Lip Products ♡ Holiday 2016

Time for the second instalment of my breakdown of the MAC Nutcracker Sweet collection for Holiday 2016! This time we are looking at the Face products and the Lip products that have been released with this collection, so let’s get started shall we?!

First up we are going to do the face products because there are quite a few!

Face Compacts £29

Let’s just all take a deep breathe, and then slightly lose our mind at the fact Whisper of Gilt is BACK! Possibly one of the most highly coveted highlighters of all time has made its comeback!! The packaging and the embossing on the pans themselves is absolutely stunning with the rope pattern making them look very decadent.

These compacts contain an Extra Dimension Skinfinish, and an Extra Dimension Blush. None of the shades are carried in the permanent line.

Sweet Copper

♡ Whisper of Gilt is a pale gold shimmer highlighter

♡ Pleasure Model is a peachy brown blush

Sweet Peach

♡ Tutu is a pale pink highlighter

At Dusk is a warm rose shade of blush

The Extra Dimension products do all have a bit of shimmer to them, although the blushes don’t look as though they have too much that it would make them unbearable or highlight any texture on the cheeks.

Size and Pricing

♡ The Face Compacts retail for £29, which is a good price considering you get a decent amount of product.

♡ Nowhere on the MAC website does it say how much product you get in the pans, however from seeing photos floating around on the internet they do look like decent sizes pans.

I think these compacts are worth the money purely for the sheer exclusivity of the shades, extra dimension blushes are not something that appear very often, and Whisper of Gilt is a cult favourite.

Magic Dust Powder £24

Magic Dust Powders aren’t a product I have seen released from MAC before, and as far as I am aware this is the first time that they have appeared in a collection. The MAC website states that they are a “translucent, ultra-fine, light-catching pearlescent powder for face, neck and décolleté”. It sounds as though they are used to give a subtle sheen to areas that you desire.

♡ Sweet Vision is a pinky peach with gold pearl

♡ Yum Yum Yum is a soft pink with gold pearl

Each pan is 10g, which is the size of a regular face powder from MAC.

They retail for £24 which is the price of a regular Mineralize SkinFinish.

Lipstick £17

Five Lipsticks have been released with this collection, and can we just take a minute to appreciate the stunning packaging?! The Matte deep plum, the gold barrel and the hot pink lid? What isn’t to love?

♡ Kingdom of Sweets is a soft, milky pink in a Cremesheen finish

♡ Flamboyish is a matte hot, deep pink

♡ Saucy Little Darling is a deep, coral-red, in an amplified créme finish

♡ So Good For You is an intense cool red, in a matte finish that looks like it would make your teeth look incredibly white when worn.

♡ Leap of Delight is a deep, plum purple in a matte finish. This purple lipstick is fairly unique to MAC.

♡ The lipsticks retail for £17 which is £1.50 more than the regular price of £15.50. Although I think just to own the stunning, incredibly unique packaging it would be worth it.

Viva Glam Lip Compact £20

viva-glam-lip-compact
Viva Glam Lip Compact

The lip palette that has been released with this collection is a fairly diverse one, you get a pale warm nude, a slightly darker nude and a cool toned red. The palette includes 3 of the most iconic Viva Glam Lipstick shades.

(From Left to Right)

♡ Viva Glam II is a muted, pink beige with shimmer in a satin finish

♡ Viva Glam VI is a terracotta plum with pearl in a lustre finish

♡ Viva Glam I is an intense brownish, blue based red in a matte finish.

♡ The lip palette retails for £20, which I think is a fairly decent price considering you get to trial 3 Viva Glam shades, although the MAC website does say that the palette is 2 inches by 2.3 inches, which is pretty small, so I don’t think you get a lot of product per pan.

I have already broken down the Eye Products that have been released with this collection (which you can read here). Next up is going to be the smaller kits that MAC have released with this collection.

Sleek Whimsical Wonderland Collection! ♡ New In Beauty

A new collection has just been announced from Sleek and it is full of beautiful pastel shades and an entirely new product!

Let’s start with the eyeshadows shall we?

Screen Shot 2016-06-11 at 19

I think the I-divine palettes from Sleek are up there in my top 5 products from Sleek, the shadows are always so incredibly pigmented and smooth, and easy to blend.

Plus can we just talk about how cute this palette is for a second?! If you ever wanted to be a pastel princess then this is definitely your chance, although if the colours scare you a little bit, then there are also a few neutral shades so that you can tone the look down a bit!

I definitely think I’m going to need to get my hands on this!

The palette retails for £8.99, the same price as all of the I-divine palettes, which is amazing value considering you get 12 shadows!

Next up are 3 new additions to the Lip VIP range:

whimsical collection - lipsticks

All 3 of these colours are super pretty, and pastel.

First up is Hot Tottie; a warm mix between a coral and a red, this shade would look amazing with a simple neutral matte eye, a winged liner and big lashes.

Next we have Fancy Pants, a creamiscle orange colour that would look really pretty in the summer with bronze glowy skin.

The last lipstick in this collection is Big Shot, a very cool-toned blue based pink. Not a lipstick for the faint-hearted!

The lipsticks retail for £5.50

Last up in this collection is a completely new product from Sleek; the Sweet Cheeks cheek stains!

Sleek Whimsical Wonderland - cheek stains

These are such a cool idea, they are very similar to the Illamasqua Gel Blushers (linked here). They are basically a gel stick that blends out to a beautiful sheer blush on the cheeks.

Hullabaloo is a beautiful warm rosy pink.

Lickety Split is a bright orange, that would look beautiful on darker skin tones.

Tom Foolery is a beautiful plum colour that would look absolutely stunning on darker skin tones. I also think if applied lightly this could look quite breathtaking on very pale skin tones.

The Sweet Cheeks retail for £5.50.

So that is the new Whimsical Wonderland Collection from Sleek! The entire collection is available from the Sleek Cosmetics website (link here).

Let me know if you pick up anything from the collection and what you think!

Drugstore Blush Wishlist ♡ Wet ‘n’ Wild, Sleek and More…

It’s Wishlist time again!! This time it’s Drugstore Blushes. These are the blushes that I have been wanting after for a very long time, but for some reason, have not made it into my collection yet. Let’s get started shall we?

Drugstore Blush Wishlist1) Max Factor  Creme Puff Blushes – £8.99 – Boots.com

Max Factor is one of those brands that seems to produce a constant stream of good products. I honestly can’t think of one Max Factor product that I have tried that I haven’t liked. So I have always been curious to see whether their Creme Puff Blushes stand up to my expectations. Plus, look at how pretty they are with all the swirly marbling!!

2) Milani Baked Blush – Luminoso – $7.49 – drugstore.com

The Baked Blush in Luminoso by Milani is definitely a cult favourite. Everybody and their mama in the beauty community seems to be madly in love with blush so I’m definitely going to try and pick it up when I’m in America this weekend!

3) Nyx Baked Blush – £6.50 – boots.com

Nyx is a brand that has always massively intrigued me, until recently it has been fairly difficult to get hold of in the UK, but now Nyx is available on the Boots website! Naturally I now have about 1000 Nyx products that I want to add to my collection, and the baked blushes are definitely one of them. There is also the added bonus of the absolutely adorable packaging!

4) Wet n Wild Coloricon Blush – Pearlescent Pink – $2.99 – drugstore.com

Wet n Wild are well known for producing amazing products for a stupidly low price. You get 0.2oz/5.85g of product in one of these blushes and they are only $2.99! Thats more product than the Milani blush for less than half the price! Definitely going to be picking one of these up in New York!

5) Sleek Blush By 3 – Pink Lemonade – £9.99 – boots.com

It’s crazy to think that you can get 3 pretty much full size Sleek blushes in one palette for £9.99. That only £3.33 each! Such a bargain! Plus, Sleek blushes have such incredible pigmentation and leave your cheeks looking so effortlessly pretty. The shade range in the Pink Lemonade palette is very rosy toned, with a coral on the end, I think there is a blush in this palette for almost every makeup look and the coral tone would look stunning in the summer with a tan!

Let me know if you have tried any of these blushes and if you have any other recommendations for me!

Impassioned ♡ New Nars Blush

There has been a new addition to the blush range that Nars has to offer, a new pink shade called Impassioned. Impassioned is described as being a ‘Pink Orchid’ shade and I would say that is pretty accurate.

Screen Shot 2016-03-28 at 20.54.14

It looks like it would be a lovely subtle shade for spring and summer, for days when you want a more subtle look. It also looks to be pretty matte, for those of you that aren’t a fan of shimmery blushes!

I discovered Impassioned when I was writing my High-End Blush Wishlist post (link) and it has quickly become the blush from Nars that I most desire to own, it is a stunning shade!

Impassioned retails for £23, the same as the other blushes from Nars and is available to purchase now from the Nars Website (link).

I might have to get my hands on it soon!

p.s. I apologise for the name of the blush being spelt wrong in the title image for this post…it is definitely Impassioned and not Empassioned..

High End Blush Wishlist ♡ Nars, tarte., Hourglass and More…

Now I’m not a huge fan of blush, I’m always terrified of applying too much and looking a bit like a clown…But that doesn’t mean I don’t have a hefty amount on my wishlist. You know, the huge ever-growing list of products that you have to get your hands on or you might explode? Well here are a few of my most lusted after:

Blush Wishlist image1) Nars Blush – £23.00 – narscosmetics.co.uk

Nars blushes have been a cult classic since the dawn of time it feels like. Ever since I fell in love with makeup I’ve heard people raving about Nars Orgasm blush and speaking of it’s magical powers in the makeup world. Although, my biggest want is Impassioned, the latest addition to the Nars Blush family (blog post here). I have yet to add one to my collection, although hopefully it won’t be too long, I have to know if it can live up to my expectations.

2) tarte Amazonian Clay Blush – $28.00 – sephora.com

Another product that the beauty world seems to go mental over, and I must admit…the packaging is most of the reason I would love to own all of these. I just imagine having a little blush coloured rainbow inside my blush drawer and it makes me all happy inside. I also love the variety of colours that the Amazonian Clay blushes offer.

3) Urban Decay 8Hour Afterglow Blush – £19.00 – urbandecay.co.uk

Urban Decay are always reliable for making amazing products, and I’m sure that their blushes are no exception. I have seen a few different blog posts and videos swatching all of these colours, and I would love to see if I could find a way to wear Bang, the bright orange-red shade.

4) Clinique Cheek Pop – £17.00 – clinique.co.uk

Everybody seems to be going crazy for the packaging of these blushes, and how cute it is, but I have to say I’m not a fan. I think it looks slightly cheap with the clear plastic… However, after looking at loads of swatches and tutorials that have used these blushes, they leave a beautiful finish on the cheeks.

5) Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush – $38.00 – hourglasscosmetics.co.uk

I am a huge fan of radiant skin and love that ‘glowing from within’ look that Hourglass products give. I also love a subtle look with my blush, clown cheeks are a huge threat for me and my pale skin. From what I’ve heard about these blushes, they will be perfect for both of those things so I am dying to get my hands on them.

6) Too Faced Love Flush Blush – £20.00 – toofaced.co.uk

If I’m not a fan of the Clinique blushes, the opposite is true for these. I absolutely adore this packaging, I think it is adorable. Who doesn’t want to collect a load of blush coloured hearts?! I also think that the co-ordinating the packaging to the blush inside is a super convenient way of packaging them, and I just overall am a huge fan of how these blushes are packaged. The swatches I have seen look amazing as well, so they will definitely be finding their way in to my makeup collection very soon.

What blushes have been on your wishlist for a while now?

Makeup Revolution Haul! ♡ Lips, Highlighter and Eyeshadows!

I decided to have a little splurge on Makeup Revolution products, I say little splurge because it only cost around £15 to get all of these products, and I love nearly every single one!

Makeup Revolution Haul.JPG

Let’s talk about palettes…Makeup Revolution has a LOT of palettes to offer and they vary in price from £4 to £8. I picked up two palettes, as you can see they are both full of beautiful neutral shades.

Makeup Revolution Run Boy Run Palette
Run Boy Run Salvation Palette

The Run Boy Run Salvation palette (£6.00) has 12 shimmery shades and 6 matte shades. The matte shades all blend out beautifully and the shimmery shades are so incredibly pigmented. There is a tiny amount of fallout with some of the shimmery shades, but overall I am incredibly impressed with this palette.

Makeup Revolution Essential Shimmers Palette
Redemption Palette – Essential Shimmers

The other palette that I picked up was the Redemption palette Essential Shimmers. As the name suggests this palette is entirely shimmery shades. There are a wide range of warm tones and cool tones, and a good mix of light, medium and dark shades. These shadows blend like a dream, and the pigment is out of this world. They aren’t quite as buttery as some of the high-end shadows, but other than that I would highly recommend this palette.

Next I picked up some face products, I picked up a highlighter and a blush that I misplaced when the photo was being taken (oops).

Makeup Revolution Highlighter
Vivid Baked Highlighter – Peach Lights

The Vivid Baked Highlighter (£3)  in the shade Peach Lights is a beautiful cool toned pink highlighter. I’m not sure why it’s called Peach Lights because it isnt very peachy at all but even so it gives a beautiful intense glow to the cheeks. The only issue is that this highlighter is pressed quite hard, which means you do need a stiffer brush to pick the product up with.

The Blush (£1) in ‘Now!’ is a pretty standard pinky-dusky rose coloured blush. I like that this blush isn’t crazy pigmented, but is buildable. It prevents me from going too heavy handed when I first apply my blush, but allows me to build it up if I’m a little too careful. This blush is slightly shimmery and gives a nice healthy look to the cheeks.

It’s no surprise that I picked up a lot of lip products (I’m a little obsessed).

Makeup Revolution Salvation Lip Lacquers
L-R: Velvet Black Heart, Keep Lying for You

I picked up a few of the Salvation Velvet Lacquers (£3 each). I already have a review up on my blog (here) if you want to know my thoughts on these. However, since writing that review I have picked up a new shade (What I Believe), and it is incredibly white based and goes quite sticky on the lips. If you have a deep skin tone I think this shade would look incredible but on my incredibly pale skin tone, I look a bit like daffy duck.

Makeup Revolution Lipsticks
L-R: 100% Vamp, The One

I also grabbed a couple of their lipsticks (£1) in the shades ‘The One’ and ‘100% Vamp’. They are both incredibly creamy, although ‘100% Vamp’ is a little patchy so I would recommend using a lipliner to fill in your lips underneath. They aren’t very drying at all, and last around 4 hours on your lips without needing touch ups!

Overall I am incredibly impressed with Makeup Revolution so far, I’m definitely going to be picking up some more products from them very soon!

Let me know if you have tried any Makeup Revolution and if you have any recommendations!

Until Next Time,

Tasha J Beauty xo
